Hi, my name is Kate Palmer.  I am a junior Psychology major from Durham, NC.  After college I want to get my masters in Guidance Counseling or possibly take classes to go into elementary education.  I am taking English 128 because the course seems interesting and covers novels that I have not yet had the opportunity to read.  I would like to improve my analytical skills as we go through the novels and poetry that we are reading this semester.  I enjoy playing the piano, singing, playing tennis, and mentoring.  I am a part of Big Brother Big Sisters in the triangle area, and I truly enjoy volunteering.  I listen to a lot of retro music like Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, the Temptations, and Prince.  I spend entirely too much time watching the Office and Grey's Anatomy (typical).  I spend a lot of time with my family, and I enjoy being at Carolina because I still live so close to them.
