Name: Nathaniel Mason Torrence (Nate)
Year: Senior
Major: Psychology
Response to the inevitable follow up question “So will you be going to grad school?” : Nope
Response to the following awkward silence/disapproving look indicating that I am headed to a dark future of unemployment, suffering, and disgrace: Well I don’t really want to pursue psychology, so I’m just going to try to figure it out as I go. My dad was a church organ repairman and my mom traveled with a magic show after college. Dad now works in web design and Mom is a minister. So I come from a tradition of illogical career paths.
Occupation: Bus Boy at Crook’s Corner
Primary Emotion When Completing “Getting To Know You” Tasks in the Beginning of Classes: Discomfort
Brief Life Story: I was born in Santa Barbara, California. My family lived in a few other places in California before moving to New Jersey when I was four. After living in several places in the Princeton/Plainboro area, we moved to Asheville, where I finished middle school and high school.
Siblings: I have a little sister named Hanna. She is a freshman at University of Chicago. She is also a genius. Among her various academic accolades are perfect scores on the math and reading sections of the SAT and the “Better Student Than Her Brother” award (really).
